Man's Best Friend in Egypt
Monday, June 29, 2015

Archaelogists found 8 million mummified animals-mostly dogs-in a tomb in Egypt. Egyptians viewed dogs as a interceder for its owner towards Anubis on the owner's way to the afterlife. We are unsure if the ancient Egyptians buried these animals (mostly dogs) dead or alive but they did mummify them. Greg Botelho reported on this case in a CNN article titled, 8 million mummified animals, mostly dogs, in catacombs at Egypt site. I think that dogs are mans best friend and it is awesome to know that the Egyptians respected them for years, however it is scary to know that they may have buried these dogs alive. I would love either a small or a big dog. My dog will be my best friend.
